The Word of their Testimony

A Sunflower Field at Sunset
A few years ago I was really struggling. Dealing with feelings of never being good enough.. depression.. feeling unloved and even suicidal. I went to church on a Wednesday evening. Not because I wanted to, but because I felt like if I didn’t I’d let my spouse down again. That night Patty Leach was speaking. She was talking about different ways to hear from God. At the end she wanted us all to write a question down on paper that we would want God to answer, then close our eyes and just listen. Instrumental music was playing in the background. I didn’t know what to ask so I just wrote God, what do you want me to know. I closed my eyes and waited.
It’s so hard to explain what happened next, it was like an out of body experience. I was kneeling in the grass and Jesus was standing in front of me. To describe him physically is impossible, all I can try to say is that he looked like he had bright beautiful colors coming off of him and it was love and peace and patience and kindness and goodness joy faithfulness gentleness.. yep. If all of those things had a physical look.. that’s what I saw when I looked at Jesus.
He stood in front of me and repeated you are so loved, you are so loved, over and over and over again. Tears were pouring down my face and I never wanted to leave that place ever again. That evening ended.. the music stopped. Lights came on.. Patty dismissed us and it was over.
I tried to experience it again the next day and the next but nothing, not until years later.. which was a few months ago. I was sitting in the passenger seat.. My husband went in a store and I stayed outside. I closed my eyes and Jesus met me in a sunflower field at sunset, held my hand, and we walked, it was super peaceful.
I am not perfect. I don’t read my Bible as often as I should. I don’t even pray as often as I should. I also don’t make it to church every Sunday but Jesus knows my heart and he’s going to meet me where I am. And we’ve met.. and I honestly can tell you it’s the best feeling I have ever experienced and I can’t wait to feel it for eternity.
The Blood of the Lamb

This participation is a tangible representation of getting caught up in His story. This is a weekly catching up into the story of God because this, when it happened, it was Him getting caught up in our story. Thank you Lord. Think about the elements that we're left with, the bread and the wine. We're participating in the divine nature with these two elements. He lifts up the bread and He breaks it and in that He's participating in our brokenness.
Body/Bread
In some ways this bread represents our broken body, our broken humanity but He doesn't leave us there, He doesn't come just to participate in our brokenness, He fully participates in our brokenness and then provides the answer to it all in the pouring out of his blood, so as we lift up the bread and wine like He did we're saying, thank you, thank you Lord. Thank you for seeing my brokenness, thank you for participating in my story as I lift this bread like He did. We give you thanks and we bless it, we bless your coming to us, we bless your stripes, we bless the chastisement, we bless the punishment that was on you, on our behalf, for our sake, we bless your story that came to us and in the blessing we sanctify these elements today. So come on, lift up that bread and break it and we participate in this divine nature in the body of Christ. (Receive the bread)
Blood/Wine
In the same way we lift up the cup because He did not leave us in our brokenness but gave us the power of heaven within us and among us. Before you take it, if there's a need in your body for healing, if there's any disease among us, any infirmity among us, as we participate in this power, we ask for the healing virtue of God to flow through us. Blood disorders, incessant depression, mental issues, we thank you for the power of the blood of Christ that came to us. You see when He came, His very first miracle was changing water into wine, because water, until that point, was the symbol and the source of life. He came on the scene and said I'm taking this to a new level. From now on the source of life is going to be in my blood. Thank you Lord. (Receive the wine)
