The Word of their Testimony

Consider the birds
My wife and I have a classmate from high school that spent a lot of time homeless. This week she shared this testimony with me.
Before I got saved I used to have parties where everyone was smoking stuff and drinking. One time I was sitting on my couch, hi and drunk, watching my kids play on the floor and I thought to myself "Man, If there really is a God I'm definitely going to hell!" So I said in my head "God if you are really real please do whatever it takes to get all three of us into heaven."
About a year later in a homeless shelter a Mennonite lady came by and offered to take us to church with her. I didn't want to go but I went anyway just to make her happy. She gave me a Bible and she showed me Matthew 6:25-26 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
I couldn't believe what I just read! This is exactly like my life! I took the Bible back to my room in the homeless shelter and I read it again and I prayed "Ok God, I'll try this. I'll trust You for everything. And if You are really real please prove it to me." And He did. If I was a dime short there would be a dime laying there. One day my hair kept blowing in my face and I asked God for a rubber band and there was a blue rubber band. Just stuff like that to show me that He's real and I've been following Him ever since.
The Blood of the Lamb

The story says that on the night he was betrayed he gave thanks, he gave thanks, on the night he was betrayed. One of his best and closest friends turned on him, in that place he gave thanks because he saw what was to come, he knew the plan, the story and what God had set before him. In that place of being totally betrayed I don't know that my heart would be like, thank you, but he gave thanks. He gave thanks because he saw what this meant and he knew the purpose, he knew the storyline and all that was wrapped up in it so in this we give thanks. In the midst of every situation that we are facing our lives, we approach this table with Thanksgiving, joy and delight knowing that there's a greater story, a greater thing that's happening.
Body/Bread
He took the bread, as he broke it, he thanked God and said this is my body. He was broken for our forgiveness, for us, on our behalf. Because he gave, because he loved, so we partake with Thanksgiving of the body of Christ. Thank you Jesus. (Receive the bread)
Blood/Wine
In the same way, it says, he took the cup and gave thanks again. It's a new covenant, this is the storyline that he was already thankful for. This is a new covenant from this point forward, "my blood", represents his pursuit of us, his covenant to us to provide the way to offer himself to us over and over and over again. We thank you Jesus, we partake of this covenant, we enter into it Lord and in it we come after you. Lord we turn our hearts to you, to pursue you with every part of who we are. (Receive the wine)
