The Word of their Testimony

Downhill with a wheel barrel full of wet cement
This weeks testimony is from a long time friend of mine.
As someone who tithes I have experienced such trauma in business that I came to the point where I could understand why people take their own lives when faced with such difficult financial burdens. In my case I really didn’t do anything wrong. I was the victim of a terrible economy. A little debt led to more debt which led to massive debt. Well into 7 figures massive. I paid myself what slowly devolved into a meager salary, and we tithed on that salary believing God would show us a way out. And that process of waiting on God took a very, very long time.
One day, years into this death spiral everything came to a head. The bank insisted that I satisfied loans that I could not repay. They threatened to take our home if we didn’t respond soon. In desperation I told my wife that I needed to get away and pray… she was reluctant to let me go fearing I might try to harm myself but she agreed and so I went to find God in the most intense way I ever have.
I remember praying. I tell people it felt like pushing a wheel barrel of wet cement up a hill. It was a hard laborious prayer; I was grasping for any thought I could come up with that expressed my desperation to God. I remember reminding Him that His word was truth and that He promised that because I gave a Tithe that He would rebuke the devourer for my sake. Slowly more scripture and concepts came to mind, so I prayed them out as well while fervently seeking the heart of God. At some point in the middle of that prayer time something supernatural happened that today I still can’t explain. It felt like that wheel barrel of cement that I was pushing had crested the hill. It was no longer hard to push. In fact, now it felt somehow like I couldn’t hold it back! Like I was no longer in control of that prayer time! It feels strange to type this but it’s true. Whether in my body or out I do not know but in the span of a few seconds I felt myself being drawn through a very bright huge hallway or corridor area. Guessing I would say it was about 40’ wide and maybe 25 to 30’ high! It was enormous and at the end I found myself on something like a veranda…very high above the ground. Not far across from me I could clearly see a large human looking man sitting on something that looked like a throne that was graphed into the side of a mountain. I could see Him from the side and slightly from the rear. I remember he had a trimmed beard, and He was dressed in white with a sash diagonally from His shoulder to His waist. Very quickly He stood, pointed outward and with a voice as booming as thunder and yet as gentle as a whisper…He said one word. ENOUGH…that was it. I became aware that I was holding my breath and when I breathed in it was over.
That was the 3rd week of April 2013. At the end of 2023, just short of 11 years later, we completed our 43rd profitable quarter in our business. Meaning since that time we haven’t had an unprofitable one. Remarkably, I can look back at that very week in our corporate finances and see where the losses stopped and where gain began. Today our family has no debt of any kind, and we are experiencing blessings beyond what I could have ever thought for myself. Never with a guarantee for tomorrow. We have no promises in this life. I write this to you as a Tither. I’ve learned it’s not about my or your money with God. It never has been. It’s about our heart. God sees our hearts.
The Blood of the Lamb

Jesus willingly laid down His life for us. He offered His body for every one of us. His blood was poured out for every one of us. The communion table is an invitation for us to come closer and meet Him. To be cleansed, to be forgiven and freed. To be loved and to be made new in His presence. God thank you for being so good to us.
Body/Bread
Luke 22:19-20 says He took the bread and He gave thanks, then He broke it. God thank you. He gave it to them and said this is my body given for you, do this in remembrance of me. We're ingesting the bread the very body of Christ, do it in remembrance of Him. Jesus thank you for your body, we receive right now, what you've done for us, all that you've done, even if we don't understand it or can't comprehend it. Receive it by faith. (Receive the bread)
Blood/Wine
And in the same way after supper, He took the cup saying, this cup is the new covenant in my blood which is poured out for you. Jesus we lift the cup today, this blood that's been poured out for us. We're made new by this covenant that you made with us that you'll never go back on. God thank you. This new covenant of love, this new covenant of your blood. We receive your life, the life in the blood. Jesus thank you. (Receive the wine)
Scripture
I’ve been in a season of intersession for our nation recently. Sometimes it feels like there is no hope in site but I know God is at work. This verse encouraged and reminded me that WE are His plan and he has equipped us for the spiritual battle.
”For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.“
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV
Lyric of the week
During my morning pray time I often put worship music on. I was reminded of this song after I read 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 so I put it on. This is a powerful song for those of you who are believing for God to make a change to a difficult circumstance.
“The mountains shake before you, the demons run and flee at the mention of your name King of Majesty. There is no power in hell or any who can stand before the power and the presence of the Great I Am”
In case you missed it
This is a visualization of the 63,779 cross references in the Bible. Each depicted by a single arc, the color corresponds to the distance between the two chapters. The bar graph that runs along the bottom represents all of the chapters in the Bible, starting with Genesis 1 on the left. The length of each bar denotes the number of verses in that chapter (for instance, the longest bar is the longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119).
The Bible was written by 40 different authors over 1,500 years. This is a master stroke of the Creator who partnered with the creation to write the greatest story ever told.
BUT God is still at work and He wants to partner with you! Think about that!
