The Word of their Testimony

Simple Obedience
Several weeks back, I was taking a class. The gentleman who was teaching the class shared a few testimonies that really stood out to me. They stood out because they are a good example of the type of relationship God wants with us.
The man’s name is John. John enjoys riding motorcycle. Several years ago, he was getting ready to leave for a chiropractor appointment, it was a beautiful day out so he thought he would take his motorcycle. He began getting the motorcycle out but in the middle of his efforts he felt the Lord prompt him to take the car. He didn’t second guess what he felt he was hearing, he just obeyed. He went to his appointment and didn’t think about it until several days later when he asked, Lord, why did you tell me to take the car? God responded simply, because you would have died.
A second testimony he shared with the class. On a different day, he was riding his motorcycle, he had his helmet on, but the visor was up. As he road along he felt the Lord tell him, put your visor down. John didn’t question what he heard, he obeyed and put his visor down. Seconds later a large bug hit him in visor, right between the eyes. The reward of simple obedience was almost instant.
When I spoke with John last night to make sure I had the details right, I asked him if he had any other testimonies I could share. He told me about a company he was employed at for 23 years went through a difficult time and closed the side of the plant that he worked on. When they did that they offed he and a few others severance packages but they also told him he had a job on the other side of the plant if he wanted it. That weekend he and his wife prayed about it and they felt like God was saying to take the severance, so he did. Turns out 3 years later the entire plant shut down. He was the only one to receive a severance package.
I hope you are encouraged to talk with the Lord this week, ask him questions, listen for his voice and when you hear him, simply obey.
The Blood of the Lamb

Communion has been central to Christian worship for 2000 years. It defines us, it's a common meal provided by the one who took everything that was against us and gave us Himself. So amazing how much God wants to be with us. We read in Luke's account, when the hour came He reclined at the table and the apostles with Him. He said, I've eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you. He eagerly desires to share Himself with all of us.
Body/Bread
Paul writes that on the night Jesus was betrayed, He took bread, and He gave thanks. God we thank you for this bread. We thank you that in a mystery this bread becomes so much more. You took the bread and you blessed it, you gave thanks. Thank you God for this gift. Then he broke it saying, this is my body given for you. God it is with gratitude, with awe, with wonder, with worship that we receive this gift. (Receive the bread)
Blood/Wine
Likewise He took the cup after they had eaten saying, this cup that is poured out for you, it is the new covenant in my blood. Lift your cup. God we thank you for the price you paid and we thank you for the fullness of your sacrifice that sets us free. We drink this cup in allegiance to you but much more we partake of your life and your covenant again in Jesus name. (Receive the wine)
