All the small things

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Revelation 12:11a
This is the inspiration for the feature sections of the newsletter. “The Blood of the Lamb” to empower you to receive communion during your personal time with God. “The Word of their Testimony” to give you faith to believe that God cares about the circumstances you face, even right now, and will step in on your behalf.
The Word of their Testimony

All the small things
This week I want to encourage you to not overlook or underestimate all the small things God does in your life. The person he puts on your mind, call them. The thing you feel him nudging you to do, do it. Or the thing you feel you shouldn't do, run the other way. Pray about everything and expect him to show up, when he does, you'll have a testimony… BUT you can't keep it to yourself, share it with someone! You'll be surprised how God uses it. Here's a small thing God did in my life that's now a testimony I can share.
December 1st I was on the way to a prayer meeting, thinking about some difficult situations in my life. As I made the last turn, the words “cast your cares on the Lord” popped in my head. I did a search for the words on the Bible app and found Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” To be honest I kind of tucked that one away for the moment as I walked into the meeting.
During worship I was reflecting on the verse, and I looked it up in my bible. The last song in the worship set was “Build my life”, a line in the chorus says "I will not be shaken" but I didn't connect the verse with the lyric until the guy was finishing the song and start to sing spontaneously… my home won't be shaken, my life won't be shaken, I won't be shaken. As he was singing that I thought, wait a minute, pulled out my Bible and there it was… he will never let the righteous be shaken. I laughed, how amazing is God that he speaks to us but will also confirm it. During prayer, I read the verse out loud and prayed into it.
After prayer was over, I went to thank the guy leading worship and he thanked me for finding that verse. I told him that the verse came to mind just before I got there. He was encouraged hearing that especially because the lyrics he was singing spontaneously were in fact not planned out which I took encouragement from.
God thank you that we heard your voice that morning, but even more so that we both acted on it. Do it in the lives of those who are reading this right now. In Jesus name!
The Blood of the Lamb

As we prepare ourselves to celebrate communion, we have to remember that when we partake in communion, we enter into the fullness of his grace. This communion meal embraces us in God's grace. We become active participants in his story. Every time we partake in communion, we experience the very power of Jesus' redemptive work release into our lives. It has the power to restore us back to the status we had with God before the fall. Hebrews 4:16 says Therefore let us, with privilege, approach the throne of grace, that is the throne of God's gracious favor, with confidence and without fear so that we may receive mercy, for our failures, and find his Amazing Grace to help us in time of need, an appropriate blessing coming just at the right moment. Take the bread and think of the wonderful miracle that you are entering into as you partake.
Body/Bread
While they were eating Jesus took the bread and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples saying, take and eat, this is my body. We receive your body with thankfulness. (Receive the bread)
Blood/Wine
Then he took the cup and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them saying drink from it, all of you, this is the blood of the new covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Thank you Lord. (Receive the wine)
