The Word of their Testimony

Surely!
In the past month, there’s been a word that has been highlighted for me. It first stood out during worship on a Sunday morning, “Surely goodness and mercy will follow forevermore”, SURELY. When we sang that something leapt in my heart. I exited the chorus the others were singing, eyes closed, face toward heaven and smile on my face, I confessed in faith surely… surely… surely.
I spent the next week thinking about surely. I looked up the definition, surely is a word that speaks confidence. I found it in Psalm 23… Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. I even used it in frustrating situations, SURELY!!!
A few weeks later, same song, I'm on my knees thanking God for his goodness and singing "surely" over the doubts and the fears in my life. As the song ended, the band transitioned into an old song by Rich Mullins that is often sung by Michael W. Smith, a song I remember singing as a little boy.
"Oh God you are my God and I will ever praise you. I will seek you in the morning and I will learn to walk in your ways. And step by step you'll lead me and I will follow you all of my days."
As I sang those words the tears began to fall like rain drops on a spring day. Flooded with a revelation of God’s faithfulness as I thought on how I had walked away from him as a teenager. He was there through it all as I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, His goodness and mercy following me. The tears were not an emotion brought by sadness but the outpouring of a joyful, grateful heart. It’s hard to describe the feeling of peace and happiness I had as I got up off the floor.
I really wrestled with whether or not to share something that happened a few minutes later. Over the years, I’ve prayed for boldness to share Jesus with those who don’t know him. Boldness to pray for a stranger, or to share a testimony. For courage to act without fear. 2024 is not the time to shrink back. After the announcements, one of our worship leaders came on stage to welcome new guests. As she walked on stage, I saw an angel behind her. I was honestly in disbelief, thinking, what’s wrong with my vision, and is it a reflection of light and smoke, doing everything to explain it away. As she walked from the back of stage right toward the front of center stage, he remained behind her. Once she made it to center stage, he moved straight back and faded away. I’m certain of what I saw and this is my testimony.
This Easter season I pray that God would show up in your life in a supernatural way. Holy Spirit I ask that you come right now and put courage deep in us. Courage to look even in the face of death without fear. Courage to look straight into the scorn and rejection of men without fear. A holy resilience inside of us to do all that you have put inside our hearts Lord. To see your Kingdom come on earth through radical obedience God. I pray that you would release faith, courage, boldness and that you demolished the power of fear in us, in Jesus mighty name!
The Blood of the Lamb

Communion is way more than a symbol of Jesus dying on the cross. It's an opportunity to partake in what he did on the cross. An opportunity to receive life, forgiveness, peace, the cleansing of your sin and the power of the resurrection of Christ.
Body/Bread
He met with his disciples for the Passover meal, as they ate, He took the bread, gave thanks, broke it and said this is my body broken for you. This is more than just eating bread; this is receiving the body of Christ. It's life to us, the nourishment to who we are, and to what He's called us to be. We remember the sacrifice He made, broken for us that we would be healed. (Receive the bread)
Blood/Wine
In the same way He took the cup and said this is a new covenant. What a powerful phrase, a new covenant in my blood. As we drink and partake, we receive his life, we receive the forgiveness, the cleansing of our sins and the renewal. We respond to the covenant; our part is to partake of what he's offered. In this we covenant with the Lord, our lives, our hearts, all of us. (Receive the wine)
