The Word of their Testimony

That’s the power of love

After hearing this testimony, I was reminded of the song from Back to the Future. When God does something supernatural in our lives it truly is the power of love, his great love for his children.

On a Saturday in March of 2021 my friend was at work. It was around 4:30 in the afternoon and he was finishing his responsibilities for the day when he received a call from his supervisor. The supervisor asks him to go help a coworker, he said he was instantly mad because he wanted to be done for the day so he could go home but followed instructions. After he helped his coworker he was heading back to the terminal sometime between 5:30-6:00 when something happened. He described it an electric feeling. “Suddenly I feel like I’ve been electrified with no pain, I feel like there was serious energy coursing through me. It ramped up for a second or two and lasted for four to five seconds. It didn’t last long but it was long enough to make me say whoa, what was that?” The best he could describe it was euphoric, his body felt like it was perfect, and he had no sin. Since then, he said scripture makes sense in a way that it never has. When he reads the Bible or hears the word, he has a new level of discernment and more hunger for the word.

The Blood of the Lamb 

Take a minute to ponder what it means to live a life that is worthy of the cross of Christ. It's at this table that we receive the grace to reflect him on this earth. We do this in remembrance of him. Lord we ask that that you would empower us to honor you with our lives. We asked that we would receive a revelation of your cross, of the blood that was spilled for us. We want to apply the blood to every area of our life, every area that doesn't line up with your kingdom Lord. We come and we take this in remembrance of the fact that you died to make a way.

 Body/Bread

With fear and trembling, we take this bread and we remember how on the night you were betrayed, you took the bread and after giving thanks you broke it. You said this is my body which is broken for you, do this in remembrance of me. We remember, we honor you, we ask that you would empower us to honor you with lives that are worthy of your cross. (Receive the bread)

 Blood/Wine

In the same manner it says the after supper he took the cup. This is the cup of the new covenant in my blood. This the blood poured out for the forgiveness of sins so that we may be washed as white as snow. So that when the father looks at us he sees an image of the son and we are able to boldly approach him. For the good of ourselves and for the world around us, we take on this worthiness as we drink. (Receive the wine)
